Even bigger Lulz to NYHC for ranting about OTHER people falling asleep on another thread and then 'fessing up to his own nodding off here. Well done. :D
HEY!! don't call me on my bullshit, who do you think you are? lol. nah I fell asleep because I was exhausted. it's taking me two weeks to get over the flu. I never get sick, I'm like a child when I am though.

finally finished it last night, I almost got choked up when Rick said "it's for you..." when Michone knocked at the door. I guess it's the dad/son relationship. I mean when Carl was yelling at Rick when he was passed out? damn that was powerful. I'm emotionally invested in him, kid's gone through some real shit. tough little fuck. now he's got his chocolate crush back!!! it's like my grandfather always said "once you go Samurai black, you never go back"

I agree that The Walking Dead is a getting a little tired. I'm watching the new episode shortly, and I hope it's good, but I'm starting to get the feeling it is going to end up being a season or two too long.

the new episode brought a lot of old feelings back. desperation, despair, terror, intimacy and even some dark humor. it still has something to say.

badkittygothgirl wrote:You couldn't be more wrong. It is ok that it is not your thing, but just because you don't like it does not make it a piece of crap. For those that like horror, zombies and good story arc, this show has all that and a bag of chips.
No not quite. It has half of that and a partially eaten bag of chips. Solid writing and acting, but at times the story is weak. Plot development drags. It is a good show, but I wouldn't call it great. Some of it has been boring as hell and some of it has been very compelling.

But again, let's be realistic here. The fucking zombies lumber around slow as fuck. They could have never, as they are presented in the story, have presented the kind of problem they have. Certainly not to the point of creating some apocalyptic end of the world scenario. I hate zombies movies in general but if you are going to do zombies at least get your logic right. You need World War Z / I am Legend type zombies to really cause a problem. Moreoever, the entire premise is absurd. Everyone is carrying the virus and it doesn't become active until you die? Not possible on any level. When you are dead, you are dead. No virus on this planet or any other is going to bring you back to life. Cell function doesn't work that way. And when those electrical signals in the brain call it quits, ie, dead, it is game over.

This is why I hate the horror genre and have issues with most science fiction. I understand the suspension of disbelief component but you need to damn site make sure you ARE getting the science right that you are presenting. Even if it is not possible, CREATE a scenario by which it is possible within the given world you are creating. Just don't toss out some goofy ass concept that makes zero sense and not explain how / why it is possible in that setting.

Fantasy writers have been tackling this problem for years. The very best writers are the ones that think all of it out. If they present a concept that requires a suspension of disbelief on the readers part they damn well make sure they have some sort of explanation to support whatever it is they are presenting in the world they have created.

Zombies aren't my thing, but they are a damn sight better than fucking Vampires!

There should never, ever, ever be another Vampire anything. Ever.

yeah but that dime piece Puerto Rican chick looks completely out of place. she's way too perfect to be a survivor of a zombie apocalypse. I wanna lick her belly.

Well, that was the most boring episode yet. Why couldn't they have killed the whiny kids instead of the interesting characters?

my brother said it was "filler" also. I must have completely missed that. those are my two favorite characters, I could easily watch the Walking Dead if it was only the two of them. excellent acting.

It wasn't a "filler" episode, it is called character building. We learned a lot about Daryl!

Well, we've had several "character building" episodes in a row now, all I can hope is that it's building to something good.

The first half of the season was insane! I'm ok with a couple of character building episodes.

ZOMG....It was insane! Literally! The actress that played Lizzie was at Walker Stalker Con in Chicago over the weekend. The first person in line asked her to smother her and it started a trend. Lots of pictures showed up like this one. That stare is unnerving! In case you didn't know, she also played one of the daughter's in True Detective.

EDIT: I saw one of the founders of Walker Stalker at our Mellow Mushroom where we do trivia every week this past Tuesday. It was odd b/c he is from Nashville. I was talking WD with our trivia guy and his wife kept looking at us. CJ29 said to me, I think that is James over there, so of course I had to go and say something. He was funny b/c he told me heard us talking WD and asked his wife if he could come over and talk WD with us. We had a great conversation about the initial con in Atlanta last October and what was in store for this year. I can't wait for next year!! I signed up to volunteer for the con.

Kirkman did an AMA on reddit yesterday and this was the answer to a question about the finale. HOLEE FUCK!

nahhhhh. that episode DELIVERED.

@BKGG I went off on a post about her before and how amazing she is. of course Tyson made a remark suggesting child rape and derailed my whole point. but that's why I like him.

Really? Is it because of the other sister? Everyone kinda knew the rabid dog was gonna have to be put down at some point so that wasn't all that shocking.

Carol broke my heart like twice in that episode. I'm such a pussy sometimes.
