I have a feeling 7empest is going to become a Tool classic. Just a feeling.

Is it just me or is the quality of that scan very blurry? Almost can't read it.
ya, i was saying it was hard to read yesterday but i was talking to people with superman eyes or something..its way too small and has to be blown up but then it becomes blocky and annoying. better then nothing of course but it takes away from reading it.

Damn I thought it would be pre album. Oh well. That’s the only one I haven’t read online yet. The other interviews have been great. Most of the same pitches from each member but some funny IRL stories dropped in by Danny and Justin.

Someone said they'd love to see what gear Adam used when making the new album.

Edit- Looks like it's about his gear in general not just what he used on this album.

Man it sucks being a lefty. I casually play on my semi acoustic but would love to buy a custom les Paul. They are either way expensive or fuckin ugly. No silverbursts in sight. No idea where to go for a proper sound though.

There is a ‘78 black beauty for 14k! Never gonna happen.

I had an Epiphone les Paul custom which sounded great but just wouldn't stay in tune for shit. A lot of people would say it's no substitute for a Gibson though.

You can still find an old LPC in the $1500-$2500 range if you really stalk them. Find one with minor issues and fix them or find someone desperate for money or doesnt quite know what they have (rare but it happens). I picked up an 81 black LPC in great shape for $2000 recently. Just needed a fret job and had one wonky tuner. Now I have a damn near perfect LPC that sounds like an evil beast for way less than market value. just sayin’

My LP Custom was over 3k, but it was a particular year/make that I coveted and it was in stunningly perfect condition (and had never had a pickguard installed, which is really hard to find as well). But echoing the above, if you find one with certain easily fixable issues you can get them for a "steal."

Sounds great but for lefties? Not finding much. 3k would be my max.

Same strategy would apply for lefties but... unfortunately they're just a lot more rare. On the plus side, not a lot of people want them for the same reason! Ha. Never shopped for them though.

Metal Hammer interview is quite good also. From this and Kerrang it sounds like they came pretty close to giving up. It also sounds like they're happier than ever as a band. A few positive comments about doing another album too where I thought they'd be far more 'this is it'. Fuck I can't wait to hear FI.

This was posted on a forum. The guy who posted this is from New Zealand I think, and it's from his local record store. But what I'm really intrigued about is what the store owner wrote on the note about the 4 LP and the CD+vinyl(October/November), oh and the "At the request of the band".
Could Tool actually drop some vinyl on us on release day?

$210 is crazy quite frankly, but I really feel for the small record stores in this instance - I've spoken to a few now and it really sounds like they are being fucked over by suppliers and/or Sony.

Another (German) preview, auto translation seems to be alright.
The first page is mostly fluff, the meat starts on page 2.

Thanks! Luckily I read, speak and write German so I could read it in the non-translated version.

What I really like in this track by track review is the fact that 7Empest doesn't get the highlight as other reviewers did. From what the German dude wrote Pneuma sounded as a really really interesting track.

F*ck the hype I am having about this album. But this will not be a let down. 30 august is gonna be the day music transcended. lolz
