Re: Best Albums of 2019

I was quite busy over the xmas period and thought I had a few more days to cast my vote. My most sincere apologies to anyone who felt they missed out on my pearls but yes HB was kind enough to take the votes of mine that mattered in the slightest.

I have always found whistling, akin to the smirk, to be a most irritating practice. :)

tys0n wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2019 6:18 pm So people failed to vote in the poll but posted here weren't included? (Obviously I guess)

Because just off the top of my head Lightning Bolt, Clipping & Freddie Gibbs/Madlib got more than one vote in this thread alone.
I've given up voting in the poll years ago when I saw Slipknot (and other shitty bands) getting voted in over excellent albums. That, and most of my votes usually go to Hip Hop, Indie, and Electronic. It's nice to see Nick Cave finally break the mold on Fourtheye, but Skeleton Tree was so much better than this latest record, in my opinion, and didn't get any recognition on here.

That actually wasn't too bad Cal. You have posted much worse.

Ulver have been a lounge act for the past two decades.

Also I gave that 'Opeth' record a chance, it's fucking shit.

Nice list, not that Ive listened to them all but on the few I have I concur. Nice to see an Aussie band in that list in Black Rheno who I saw a couple of months back and thought were great and Eternal Forward Motion an album which kept growing on me with a powerful female vocalist.

Don't lie, you would have loved that list regardless on account of cattle decapitation being high up there

It is a mighty fine album, top of the pops for me!

No reference to Forward Eternal Motion I note. I knew you'd come around!

I don't think the Opeth album is shit at all, but I did find it mostly uninteresting. Very much "been there, done that" for me. Not sure there's much I actively dislike about it, it's not a bad album, just a 6/10.
