As per Frontier Touring's announcement today, it seems as though Tool will be visiting us Down Under in February 2020:

^where does that come from?

And now plus airfares and accommodation.

Haha unless you lather yourself in baby oil before you attend the show I would argue you're not participating in the FULL busty experience.

I'd assume tix will be around the $168 mark. Won't be cheap in any case but fuck it, been a while between shows. I excite!

Of course, and the obligatory flag too I'm guessing? ;)

My guesses:
  • Iron Maiden tickets are $180, so I'd expect Tool to be around the same
  • Likely to see dates spanning the weeks either side of 22-23 Feb. Reasoning: Rod Laver arena looks reasonably booked out up until the 20th of Feb
We'll know for sure on Friday.

Had a quick gander at flight costs last night, and looks like there's a few sales on at the moment for Feb. Hopefully they are still on sale when the dates arrive.

At this point I'm planning on seeing two shows if the schedule permits. Probably one show that lands on a weekend + another. I'm guessing probably Brisbane & Sydney

For reference the 2013 tour schedule was:
Sat 27 Apr, 2013 Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne - All Ages
Sun 28 Apr, 2013 Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne - All Ages
Wed 01 May, 2013 Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena, Adelaide - All Ages
Fri 03 May, 2013 Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney - All Ages
Sat 04 May, 2013 Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney - All Ages
Mon 06 May, 2013 Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Brisbane - All Ages
Wed 08 May, 2013 Vector Arena, Auckland - All Ages
Thu 09 May, 2013 Vector Arena, Auckland - All Ages
Wouldn't surprise me if 2020 dates were something like:
  • Feb 17 & 18 Auckland
  • Feb 20 Brisbane
  • Feb 22 & 23 Sydney
  • Feb 25 Perth
  • Feb 27 & 28 Melbourne

Did the second shows in Sydney and Melbourne go on together do you recall or were they added?

Yep added pretty quickly. Agreed with Hboy , I see Melbourne & Sydney being the only shows in Aus that get multiples. Nice to know will know the dates this week , gives me time to make my flag and get the baby oil ready

I wonder if VIP will require you to have a Tool Army membership and if it does can you just purchase one the day as like the slack cunt I am.

Fair enough - aside from Rod Laver I haven't verified those guesses against other venue bookings.

I imagine TA members will get at least first crack at VIPs, but who knows - presales get cocked up so often it's anyone's guess.

Damn . Hard to plan for around world with those dates. Melbourne is looking the best option at the moment coz I'm guessing 2nd Sydney show will be on the tues so Melbs looks like the least amount of days off.

Anyone been to rod laver before ? Good venue ?

Now junior I know you don't pick the setlists but if you could somehow please convince the band to include Lateralus in place of say the pot or parabola I'd be eternally grateful. I'd even deliver some Tim tams and a jar of vegemite to the desk and give you unrestricted access to my pet kangaroo while you're in the country.
Sincerely yours,
Señior Busty

Fair call, parabola will be great to hear after all these years, the pot I can do without. Will be weird seeing a tool show without Lateralus

Nice, Melbourne on a Saturday night! Just what I ordered (after they ditched Adelaide of course). Now play Descending, Pneuma, Invincible and 7empest and my life will be complete.
