I don't buy into the myth that the Greens have impacted the amount of hazard reduction at all, but they are not without blame in the climate mess we're in.

No one has more blood on their hands that the corrupt Liberal party members though.

The Greens hold zero power and the ONLY thing they can be blamed for was rejecting the CPRS proposed by the Rudd government, but I blame Rudd more for not calling a double dissolution election.

It's gutless and moronic to blame The Greens for any of this mess and just another example of the conservatives of this nation blaming anyone but themselves for the situation we are in.

Um are we now blaming climate change solely on the actions of Australians and their government? And saying further that they are responsible for the fires?

Lets not get carried away.

The path forward is not blame. If something positive is to come out of this summer it may be that there is a willingness on behalf of our leaders to find solutions together instead of continual political point scoring.

My comment wasn't at all a dig at any party per se. I have held beef long before this summer with our inability to respect and employ the original custodians of this land.

They survived as long as they did coz when it comes to this continent, they know they're shit, despite our best efforts to erase their history.

No?

I am blaming them for lack of action, completely different things.

Well actually no they don't to put it simply and none of the land care experts in my area I know are aboriginal. I'm not sure why you are making this a race issue?

I don't consider it a race issue. I understand they are a primitive culture, but when you consider they lived here 60,000 years before we did, just seems kinda foolish not to value their input a little higher.

My opinion is not based on a racial issue but of their history living on this land.

Yes, like I said, they were here before all the infrastructure and climate change, their idea of back burning was to burn everything.

When it boils down to it , you're, to the best of my knowledg, far more directly impacted by all this than anyone else here, so I'm not here to say what's what. Plus, I don't really wanna be another internet voice moaning about shit that really where we are at right now. Doesn't add anything.

My personal opinion is that , of course plenty of their methods aren't suited to modern living but I also think it's extremely foolish to completely ignore their methods. Primitive as it may be, they understand the land better than anyone from an instinctual point of view. They can add value imo.

If the Kooris in my region had anything to add to this crisis they would and it would be front page news, we listen to our original owners here.

I am an optimist. I also think that a willingness, or even the perception of it, to engage in a bipartisan approach to climate issues is going to play very favourably to the electorate. And I do have some confidence that our politicians can be quite pragmatic when it comes to courting electoral favour.

If they have nothing to add , I assure you it's because us white men eradicated that knowledge from them via methods such as extermination , the stolen generation and introducing drugs and alcohol. It doesn't mean their knowledge nation wide has been completely eradicated.. yet.

You have evidence of this, right?

:|

And you're obviously forgetting the 1200 people who drowned under Labor, seeking asylum due to newly rolled back laws regarding offshore processing.

Funny how all those deaths stopped when Liberals got back in.

What a selective fucking memory you have.

Ah a deflection from the issue at hand! You're a true Liberal to the end!

I was of course referring to the climate crisis, and I have no arguments to offer on the refugee issue. It's a long way from forgotten, and that has been mismanaged by both parties from quite some time.

Evidence of what? That the Libs don't give a fuck about climate change? Even blind Freddy can see that....
Where's the evidence for the Greens being to blame for the lack of hazard reduction?

Greens have inundated local councils.

Local councils have banned the clearing of land in rural areas. Back burning not taking place.

You're seriously going to ....blame the Liberals for the current spate of bushfires?

Seriously? You're going to blame the Libs for the weather? The weather?!?!? We don't even know the causes of these fires yet? Were some of them deliberately/accidentally lit?? You're going to blame the Libs for arson??

And as for the Liberals "not caring", I do believe we're one of the few nations to be keeping true to our Paris agreement.

Insipid.

Of course not, and your blubbering amuses me. You actually think I'm trying to suggest Tones was out there leaving a cigarette lit in rural victoria? Or that Barnaby was seen tipping petrol in the scrub in the Blue Mountains? Of course not, and these weasel arguments are below you.

What I am blaming the Libs for is a lack of action in regards to addressing climate change.

As to the Paris Agreement, there's little evidence to suggest what you say is true, quite the opposite in fact:
