Other than selected songs, never was a huge AIC fan. I don't necessarily dislike any of their stuff but other than those few songs nothing of theirs really tickles my pickle. Anyway, this is a solid album. It's between this and Dirt for their best one.

I'll say 6.5/10

Yeah. I'm not even gonna bother with one - which says I lot considering I actually even gave Helmet''s Meantime a listen. And I hate Helmet.

Alice in Chains gave the blueprint for Nickleback and countless others.

Just because they were first, doesn't make them any better.

You could really say that about BLACK SABBATH.

AIC only really have one great album - Dirt. It's an album I greatly enjoy, however for me AIC are largely a one trick pony. Their unplugged album was great though, and probably one of the best unplugged albums going around.

As for Facelift - I never listen to it as I really only enjoy two songs. 6/10

Alice In Chains
Alice In Chains
(sometimes called the 'tripod' album, is clearly their best work.

Clearly.

Listen to it again.
Trust me.

Dirt is by far their "Classic" album. Good from start to finish, cause I eats my spinish.

Facelift is a decent album as well, but I'm with HB on this.

Dirt and this one are the same to me, couple of great songs and a bunch of "eh" to "ok" songs.

I think that's very dismissive sir. The Boss' comments are spot on.

It's really hard to take your musical opinion seriously, considering you like grindcore and THE NATIONAL.

I would have picked Dirt over Facelift but that's just my opinion. I mean to me a classic is every song is excellent, from soup to nuts, which is the aforementioned Dirt. there's no "okay" songs on that LP. they all bang.

Classic in this case just means that most people here have listened to the album. I agree that Dirt is the better album, but I thought it might be more interesting to go with an album that wasn't their best.

that makes sense. what's funny about Facelift is that it's an album most people have not listened to but it features a song heard by everyone. people know "Man In The Box" and don't even know who created it.
