Attempted to watch netball the other day for the first time, that lasted a whole 15 seconds.

Re: Sports Thread
Any sport that involves character and skill is worth watching.
I love it when people claim that they're "sports fans", yet only watch and/or follow a small handful of sports.
It's like Aussies who follow the EPL and yet not the A League. If you love something, you fucking follow it, regardless.
Except for floorball. That shit is whack.

I find netball too restrictive. I mean why not just jump shoot the ball? I guess I am biased as I have been a laker fan all my life and love basketball. But I gave it a shot and found out netball is not my type of sport. Move on to the next

Why not knee-cap fuckers, or kick the fucking ball, during a basketball game?BlackHole83 wrote:I find netball too restrictive. I mean why not just jump shoot the ball? Re: Sports Thread
MMA is the shit. It's an evolved art form not restrictive of just one style of martial arts. As big of a fan I am, I would like to see more traditional martial arts to take a poke at it. I know it may contradict what the certain martial art forms are based on, but it would still be fucking awesome to see a proper master of Kung fu or wing chun or tai chi to go up against today's mixed styles (BJJ, muy Thai, wrestling, boxing etc.) it would be very interesting to see different styles clash.
Re: Sports Thread
I'd say Lyoto Machida is definitely a karate master. when he fought Jon Jones that was basically karate vs Grecco roman wrestling and made for one of the best bouts in UFC history. so yes you are correct it does make it interesting. I did post an oldddd school video from the 1963 when Gene Lebell fought Milo Savage. that's judo vs boxing straight up.BlackHole83 wrote:MMA is the shit. Re: Sports Thread
I agree with the Jones Machida fight, I highly enjoyed That as well. Originally from the states and now living in oz it is good to see the sport grow down here. There are lots of enthusiasts who wake up early on Sunday morning to head to the pub to watch the fights. Lots of different clubs offer training, it is a lot bigger than some people may realize.N.Y.H.C. wrote:I'd say Lyoto Machida is definitely a karate master. when he fought Jon Jones that was basically karate vs Grecco roman wrestling and made for one of the best bouts in UFC history. so yes you are correct it does make it interesting. There is no point trying to per sway anyone into liking MMA. Either you like it or you don't. I'm a fan of boxing wrestling and martial arts since a very early age so it just makes sense to combine them all. The sport will only continue to grow and I do hope to see more styles integrated. Cheers
