 I think this entire forum is walking on eggshells right now. We all have a right to be reluctant about getting excited. I think most of us know that something is a' brewin' though. Just not sure what until we have confirmation.

Tom waits more days after ten thousand days. Like sands through the dayglass, so are the days of our lives.

Tool will release an album, most likely not today, but, sooner than yesterday.

When that day arrives... I'm gonna play Silverchair's 'Tomorrow' beforehand.

I just played 10K Days in my great room for the first time in a couple years on my new Sonos surround sound system. I like it much more now. It's grown on me in 2015.

Sounds nice. I like the album. Some really great music/vocals contained throughout each actual song. Rosetta Stoned accelerates me in the bass and drum build up to the apex, using the wooden block percussion like they did in 'The Grudge' after the great scream, when the Junenard releases his chill bump inducing higher pitched vocal lines: "Overwhelmed as one would be placed in my position....Buuuut IIIII forgooooot my pen..."
Good track!!

Man, the 2007 tour was so good with Rosetta Stoned and Wings in the set list. As far as the 10,000 Days album, I really enjoy every song in its singular form. My biggest complaint is the pace of the album as a whole. The placement of the songs are off, plus I feel like there should have been another big song somewhere.

My youngest is hosting a pizza beer party for a dozen of his mates at present. First cab off the rank to blast the surrounding neighborhood? You guessed it 10,000 days! Budsy I hear you. 10,000 days was the first album of theirs I really listened to. I bought it upon recommendation from a friend (Robert for your info Hellboy) and listened to it by myself just blown away. I saw them for the first time in 2007 also. Magic!

If the new album ever sees the light of day I will be more than pleased with an equivalent caliber.

I expect to hear squawking babies instead of a a tribal theme. :)

Yeah Budsy. That's what I'm talking about. The production on that album sounds so much better with good speakers. I have a beast of an old school Denon receiver pushing 2 Klipsch towers, 1 JBL 14" and now I have 2 wireless surround Sonos speakers on the far corners of my room. Very clear sounding. No muddiness. I have a feeling Evil Joe will be producing the new album again. Blair has been mentioning him quite often.

Jesus I go away for 12 months to come back to positive words being spoken about 10,000 Days!! Whoever said a few posts back, it was lacking just one more standout track, nailed it for me... Wings (1), the Pot & Right in Two are all good songs, but aren't great by the bands standards for mine. One more killer tune woulda been welcome.

I got a couple of texts today about this video from friends who I'd consider minor Tool fans at most... Word's on the street.

It was strange trying to explain that it can't really be believed yet:

Them: Tool's in the studio! (with link )

Me: I guess it's possible

Them: But they said it right there

Me: Yea but there's no real proof

Them: it's Adam Jones in the freaking video, how's thst not proof?

Me: It's just, um, not enough

Them: You're an idiot

Me: I'd call me worse in your position

I don't get why AJ is so hesitant to answer the question 'what are you guys doing here Adam?'

'We're uhhhhhhh umm working on some tunes...... Having some fun'

This could mean anything. Re-recording old tunes with new parts? Like the recent live opiate etc. New salival type release? Did that curveball ever get revealed? What was that? Sounds like he's trying to keep whatever it is a mystery for now

I'd like to hear the production of David Bottrill again for the newest album. AEnima & Lateralus were produced and mixed, to me, in a way that best captured Tool in that moment of time. Not dismissing the quality of 10,000 Days whatsoever; Joe Barresi did an outstanding job with that one. That one.
This next one will be, again, the band members collectively putting their heads together- as they always do- while communicating amid outside negative forces. Striking pain directed to the heart produces an emotional hurt and therefore springs forth the beauty of light in the darkest moment.
D. Bottrill saw that light and helped create 2 of the best albums ever made.
More of that guy on this next compilation of songs, I say.

Is Adam taking the piss, or is it Maynard? Who knows. I certainly wouldn't put it past Maynard.

The timing doesn't seem quite right for them to be recording the new album, though I'd really like this to be the case.
