I like Tool's willingness to use effects to enhance the live performance but not stray too far from the recording. There was an effect he used during Pushit on the most recent tour ("I am somewhere I don't want to be...") that seemed to echo in front and behind me (either from the sound stage or thank you psilocybin) that actually improved on the recorded version. I am not concerned with how their recording sounds because I know they'll sound great live, one way or another. They take great pride in their live shows so I don't think we need to worry.

if this whole "cure ball", pictures of Baressi, Motorhead letting us know of studio recordings, Adam posting these video clips, "bringing in the closer" nonsense is just them releasing some sort of Salival type project I'm going to be really fucking pissed off.

That's pretty obvious that is what it is. Just accept it and it won't hurt. Salival II is better then nothing. New album within 2 years, it'll be ok. It's something to look forward to

Anything other than a new album seems ridiculous at this point.

Nothing that has been brought up as a potential curve ball would be a curve ball for them, including Salival 2ish.

Well the only one, in my opinion, would be the live DVD.
