That's because High On Fire are a drug band and Adelaide is a drug town.

Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc.
I saw Creed, from The Office, tonight. My friend's band was opening for him. He was pretty good, funny, but also had some good songs.

Did they play "With Arms Wide Open"?
Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc.
Not that Creed, dummy. He's talking about Rocky's best friend's son.

Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc.
Sounds good, I was planning on going to the Dec show, but will be away for the one this week.
Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc.
These look like shows that Kittaan should definitely go to:
For three decades, Neurosis have been at the forefront of expanding heavy music into new territories with their humble beginnings leaning largely on hardcore punk and evolving into a boundless band that helped give rise to sludge, post-metal and post-hardcore.
To commemorate 30 years since the release of their first demo, the California outfit have booked four special shows to highlight their expansive career, as Loudwire reports.
The first set of performances will be on March 4 and 5, 2016 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco with the second set coming on April 16 and 17, 2016 in Tilburg, Netherlands as part of the Roadburn Festival. Neurosis' Scott Kelly and Steve Von Till will be performing solo sets at Roadburn on April 15, 2016. Accompanying Neurosis on these dates will be stoner doom legends Sleep and the minimalist noise rock outfit Shellac, most notable for featuring acclaimed producer Steve Albini.

Good to see the old folks out and about. I too was out last night seeing some quality local offerings.Kittaan wrote:I just got home from seeing Yob in Oakland. Amazing show.
Yob were quite good a few months back but Shellac were awesome. I hope you go see them. I am pumped for seeing Shellac next month. Hellboy is being a little non committal at this point. He has obviously lost that youthful spontaneity.

Fortunately with age comes patience as well as great knowledge . I will continue to be kind.

Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc.
Just got back from this show. A very similar set list but we got "rain song" for the Led Zep cover and "A day in the life" for the Lennon cover.Kittaan wrote:Nice, Norm. Glad you had a good show.
Lettuce was super funky last night and they played for hours.
Cornell solo was excellent. He is undoubtedly one of the best voices in rock, and he was on. So glad it wasn't with the band he put together, this was so much better. Just him with an array of acoustics and on some songs he had a cellist (who also played it like a bass to great affect).
Killer setlist tonight too. Edit: Here it is...
Before We Disappear
Can't Change Me
The Times They Are A-Changin' - (Bob Dylan cover) (a rewrite of the Bob Dylan song - he called it The Times They Are A-Changin' Back)
As Hope & Promise Fade
Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart
Fell on Black Days - (Soundgarden song)
Thank You - (Led Zeppelin cover)
Wide Awake - (Audioslave song)
Doesn't Remind Me - (Audioslave song)
Be Yourself - (Audioslave song)
Blow Up the Outside World - (Soundgarden song)
All Night Thing - (Temple of the Dog song)
Call Me a Dog - (Temple of the Dog song)
When I'm Down
Rusty Cage - (Soundgarden song)
Sunshower
Hunger Strike - (Temple of the Dog song)
Black Hole Sun - (Soundgarden song)
Worried Moon
I Am the Highway - (Audioslave song)
Nothing Compares 2 U - (Prince cover)
Ave Maria - (Franz Schubert cover)
Let Your Eyes Wander
River of Deceit - (Mad Season cover)
Wooden Jesus - (Temple of the Dog song)
Imagine - (John Lennon cover)
Encore:
The Day I Tried to Live - (Soundgarden song)
Seasons
Like a Stone - (Audioslave song)
Higher Truth
I have decided that Dylan should have had Cornell do all his vocals and that if I could, I would ban from concerts, all those that think they are at a sporting match , who whoop and cheer over notes that I would like to actually enjoy. It's not Australian idol idiots!
A fantastic show and I'm in love with Cornell all over again. A very special mention to the cellist Brian Gibson (*don't know if that is correct spelling). He played on about a third of the songs I'd estimate. A great addition.
I totally agree Kittaan, definately one of the very best voices in rock. He and Eddie Veder for my money.

Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc.
On the way to Melbourne to see Shellac tonight. We have an effigy of Hellboy that we beat with sticks when a tune comes on we disapprove of.
Those of you in Melbourne should consider this show. As of yesterday there were still tickets available.
