Re: Star Wars Hype Train
I havent seen a star wars film since the release of Episode I. I've never seen Episodes II or III. Last weekend I purchased all 6 movies, so far I've only re-watched Episode IV. I think im going to watch it in this order. IV, V, I, II, III, VI. Trying to get it all in before launch day.

Asteroids do not concern me, Admiral. I want that ship, not excuses.

Re: Star Wars Hype Train
I'm out of this thread for a few days. Seeing the movie late Thursday night. I'll see you guys on Friday.
Re: Star Wars Hype Train
I'll probably head out Thursday morning (Oz time) to see this. Considered the midnight session at the local cinema, but the only seats left were shitty ones. Will post a spoiler free review but will hold off spoiler based discussion until a few days after release.
Others can feel free to discuss SW including spoilers, but please remember to use the spoilers tag (example below):

Luke dies. Leia gave him chlamydia and it kills him at the end of the movie.

So anyway, I'm back home now so here's an extended, not very spoilery review (in a spoiler tag anyway, just in case, but I'm not giving any major plot points away):

Re: Star Wars Hype Train
I want to see this so fkn bad, but I get way to anxious and uncomfortable around the sweaty stinky "hip gangsta wannabes" on the fkn Gold Coast that I have to wait till the crowds die down.... I remember when the first Timothy Zahn novel came out after years of no Star Wars in '91, and how excited I was.... There was no hype back then...
Be good to each other.
Re: Star Wars Hype Train
9:30 session this morning was under half full. Pick the right time and you need not have to deal with crowds

Man, I head the final shot of the movie was supposed to be amazing, but this is seriously next level.

What's the deal with the Andy Serkis cgi rendered character? The main bad dude. Was he "believable"? Did he work, in the context of the film?

Re: Star Wars Hype Train
This has spoiled Star Wars for me. No matter how good the new movie is, I'm still going to be wishing that they made this movie instead.UndKeineZwEier wrote:Man, I head the final shot of the movie was supposed to be amazing, but this is seriously next level.

I didn't really like it to be honest. I imagine hell be much more prominent in the future moviesCalfium Jay wrote:What's the deal with the Andy Serkis cgi rendered character? The main bad dude. Was he "believable"? Did he work, in the context of the film?

Re: Star Wars Hype Train
OMG!! So very good. So much to process. I highly recommend two viewings. Don't overthink it, just enjoy it. So many feels. Can't wait to see it again. We went to the 11pm show due to a work xmas party. We almost stuck around to see again, but it was 1:30 am. Btw, you couldn't tell it was that late b/c they are showing it all night long and there were still plenty of people in line at the concessions. Patton Oswalt was right....J.J. Abrams did it.
Re: Star Wars Hype Train
Definitely, I'd say this is JJ's best work by quite some margin.badkittygothgirl wrote:OPatton Oswalt was right....J.J. Abrams did it.

I've got to know: does Lobot make an appearance? None of the reviews I've read have said anything about it and I'm dying to know.
