Great job, UndKeineZwEier. I always enjoy a good Microsoft Painting. And rainbow laser-eyes? How post-modern.

I would be happy to see more of Adam's art on the album, and I'm tempted to think Alex Grey will do a special piece just for the album.

i would really appreciate a H R Giger kind of darkness, and a stage design with dim lights rather than a floyd-esque laser orgy, please my third eye not the other two

and btw now you mention it, 10kdays had Grey's art in it but it was not designed specifically for the album, it was just his paintings being thrown in there, how lame is that, it wasnt even in tune with the sound of the album (the pics of the members were nicely fit in but the rest was just rubbish)

How will Tool approach the design of the new album?

I think the 10k days art is really good. I mean it's Alex Grey. The art used from Grey symbolizes interconnectedness and rebirth, both are themes throughout the album. The other stuff is great too. I always thought the pictures were a little weird. Especially Justin's, what the fuck is the deal with the hawk?

I hope that it goes in a spiritual direction. A new artist off the radar would be refreshing.

Lyrically this album is just going to be Hooker with a Penis Parts 2-10, so hopefully the art reflects that.

I think it will be very digital-perfect whatever it is. Realistic fantasy type images similar to the vicarious DVD and opiate rerelease.

I feel like realistic fantasy is a bit of an oxymoron.

A Real fantasy would be more of an oxymoron.

~To get right to it, I’m guessing that all of the band members have one of these bug headpieces, and that they are all wearing them while working on a new song. The reason why, I believe, has to do with bug tymbals, or some kind of biomimetic infochemical communication – an idea most likely introduced to the guys by maverick entomologist Rance Q. Spartley (that’s right, our bespectacled “bug man” friend!), who has a long interest in insect chemocommunication. ~

I'll just leave this here

That doesn't sound right but I don't know enough about bug helmets to dispute it.

If David Attenborough did a voiceover for each track on the new Tool album, I could maybe fall asleep to it.

He has one of them voices , suits his job very well. The bugs look like what Adam has been interested lately. They create a sound that is quite remarkable. They step out of their shells. This sounds like what we have heard of the boys lately. maybe lol

They just posted they have about "2 albums worth of music done, but only 5 songs meet Tool standards...". Given the length of their other albums (about 10 songs, plus narratives), looks like they're halfway done! I personally like the quality over quantity approach. Some people have posted they're gonna release a double album... I'd rather they didn't. Save the second half for after I've had the time to fully appreciate the first half! :)

I believe Danny said he wanted a double album. Would'nt it be great to have more synth segue jam outs in the songs. more living elements please.

Anyone else think the new 'pyramid' backdrop during Descending might have something to do with the new album design direction? It was pretty damn impressive. I couldn't help but think it was a clue or a hint to something as the smoke on the horizon swirled around it....
