statement from his wife:
"When we spoke after the show, I noticed he was slurring his words; he was different. When he told me he may have taken an extra Ativan or two, I contacted security and asked that they check on him," she continued. "What happened is inexplicable and I am hopeful that further medical reports will provide additional details. I know that he loved our children and he would not hurt them by intentionally taking his own life."

I'm still pretty emotional about losing Chris. As someone who has come from the fires of hell to get clean from benzos, they are bad fucking news. Makes it that much harder to take in when there's a chance he might have OD'd on a fucking benzo.

Heart-wrenching seeing how he was with his kids. Such a beautiful soul. Big Pharma can suck a dick. Lobbyist cunts and their evil ambitions.

A good read about chris cornell and explaining suicide. Why people who have everything going for them and who you think may never take their lives do it.

I think this article will help anyone who has thought of suicide .

Pausing between lines to wipe away tears, the singer managed to hold her own on the song while the crowd screamed in approval.

Chris Cornell’s Los Angeles Funeral Attended by Bandmates, Metallica, Brad Pitt, Dave Grohl

Beneath an overcast sky, Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell was laid to rest Friday in a private ceremony at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Along with the singer’s wife Vicky and their two children, a wide variety of people from various stages of his life were present to pay tribute, ranging from his Soundgarden bandmates and musician friends like Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to actors Brad Pitt and Christian Bale.

Cornell’s Audioslave bandmate Tom Morello was among the speakers at the service. Others in attendance from the music world included Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell and Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington — both of whom wrote or spoke in tribute to the singer last week — Metallica’s James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell, Krist Novoselic, Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams, the latter of whom is managed by Ron Laffitte, as was Cornell. Actors Josh Brolin and Jeremy Renner were present as well.

The singer’s gravesite, located in the cemetery’s Garden of Legends section, will be open to the public at 3 p.m. local time, after the service concludes.

Hollywood Forever Cemetary is home to numerous notable entertainment industry figures, including Johnny Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, Mickey Rooney, and Douglas Fairbanks.

Toxicology report shows 7 different drugs in Cornell's system. Coroner says drugs did not contribute to his suicide.

So from what I remember reading Soundgarden were working on a new album before Chris' death. Anyone know if they actually recorded, or if they were just writing?

I wanna say they had demos ready and they were about to track the record, but I'm not certain.

They'd been working on that album for just short of two years. It's reasonable to suggest there are some demos that exist that could see the light of day if polished up.
