Yeah all signs point to really extensive touring for this. I'm sure they'll hit SF or Bay Area sooner or later. And as Hellboy and BKGG said, it's amazing live. Just go you'll be glad you did.

I'll be hitting up the Atlanta show most likely for this first run. Maaaaybe NYC if I can swing it. I love NYC in October.

NIN is the only band that I've thought at times is better than Tool live.

The "BESIDE YOU IN TIME" DVD is one of the few live dvds that I repeatedly watch. It's a true testament to their live shows, and I'm glad that I've managed to see them. If it was only once.

I'd give blood to see NEUROSIS live, but that's another story.

The BYIT time shows were awesome (when that curtain drops and Eraser begins....Jean Claude Van DAMME!), but in all honesty, the shows I saw after that were even better.  It's like Trent tries to up the ante every single tour.

I'm guessing you saw them during that tour?

The Lights In The Sky tour was really incredible, so if they even approach topping that I'll be pretty fucking impressed.

"We’ve also announced our new tour, Tension 2013, coming this fall to North America. Picking up where Lights in the Sky left off, this is the full-on NIN live experience realized as we never could before."

Cool trailer, but touches on only some of the visual parts.  There's plenty of footage on the internet including the "This one Is On Us" fan project:

^ Well, unless they add an SF date, I will miss out again.

Kit, Im not sure if it's your kind of thing or not, but they are playing Outside Lands. With the Chili Peppers and Sir Paul. Probably the most WTF lineup ever, even if they aren't playing the same day.

if they are playing Outside Lands then there will not be another bay area date for at least 6 months.  ALL major festivals have a radius clause built into all performers contracts

Yep, now that makes a lot of sense why no individual SF date.  Should have figured that out.

I went to the inaugural Outside Lands, solely to see Radiohead which was an excellent show, but that festival is a total clusterfuck, and I will not likely go again.  As mentioned above, I'm sure Trent will come back to SF before he's done again, so I'll make an effort to get to one of those shows.  Thanks guys.

I was never able to get into Godflesh. I'd much rather see Jesu, White Static Demon or JK Flesh but I do love me some Prurient.

Both JESU and GODFLESH own for different reasons, but I know what you mean. I find myself listening to JESU far more than GODFLESH.

I'd take Godflesh every day of the week, but don't mind either.

Quicksand are one of the greatest bands most people are not aware of. plus Mastodon? excellent lineup.

I guess so... tough to say since I've been a big fan of quicksand for so long... I wouldn't say they're absolute mainstream but it's been a looooong time since they were underground... either way, they are fucking awesome.  Slip is in my top 10-20 favorite records.

Seeing Boris tomorrow night...hopefully better than last time. They were a bit boring then.

But a Godflesh/Prurient gig...

Aussie Pub Rock & Grunge pioneers (not to mention Tool support act) Cosmic Psychos are heading out on their "First Aussie Tour In Forever" in August:

9th August: Hi Fi Bar, Melbourne + the Ooga Boogas, Dead River Open
10th August: Metro Theatre, Sydney + Front End Loader, Bruce
16th August: Amplifier Bar, Perth + Devil Rides In
17th August: Fowlers Live, Adelaide + Meatbeaters, Pro Tools
24th August: Hi Fi Bar, The West End (Brisbane?) + Six Ft Hick, Good Times

Some interesting support bands there - Front End Loader are one of my favorite bands, pity they're not supporting the whole tour.  Pro Tools (playing in Adelaide) I believe are some kind of side-project featuring John Scott from the Mark of Cain.  And Six Ft Hick are always fun live.
