I worked for them from early 1998 - late 2003. One of the reasons they hired me was because Fred liked Tool.Bobby Bottleservice wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 1:14 amJunior, this is interesting. You are being very vague. I think you spill the beans?
Fixed that for ya mate.junior wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 8:17 pmI worked for them from early 1998 - late 2003. One of the reasons they hired me is coz I'm a fucking gun at what I do. Also... actually this past week my memories been a tad weird but only with a few small things. i didnt even think of my old neighbour Bryan that moved almost 3 years ago at this point :S Thanks for the reminder, TYSON. im just taking a little vacation i guess or a permanent one ? heavy Aerosmith!Busty McCracken wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:39 pmGeez im used to Bob never listening to me but now hes doing it to even himself!!! Bob you deserve better than that mate, listen to yourself. It's what Bryan would have wanted.
Ok Junior. this band was trying something different back then (Damn, we are fucking old). I thought it sounded cool, but not for very long. I witnessed (on youtube) Limp Bizqit played Opiate and it was not good at all. I am surpised becasue I think Wes Borlad is a great guitarist. Maybe it was the rest of the band that sounded like shit?junior wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 8:17 pmI worked for them from early 1998 - late 2003. Wes was always a bit different than the other 4 guys.Bobby Bottleservice wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:04 pmOk Junior. this band was trying something different back then (Damn, we are fucking old). I've always heard his other stuff he's done outside of LB is pretty well done. I always think back to the breakstuff video and Fred and everyone look like your typical early 2000's nu-metal dudebro's and Wes looks like this:junior wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:25 pmWes was always a bit different than the other 4 guys.Bobby Bottleservice wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:04 pmOk Junior. this band was trying something different back then (Damn, we are fucking old). I'd heard that he once told an interviewer that he wouldn't listen to Limp Bizkit if he wasn't in the band.
I had some good times with them. I don't want to make it sound like it was all negative. The "Opiate" cover was just too weird for me.

They were still playing "Opiate" in 2013? I haven't worked for them since 2003, so I'm not up on what they are like now. When I was with SOAD, Bizkit were on an Australian festival tour with us (Soundwave 2012). I think that's the only time I've seen them since 2003. The sound guy they had back in 2003 was also on that tour with another band (Alter Bridge) and he and I went out front to watch Bizkit the first day of the tour. We looked at each other on the way to FOH and realized how weird it was to be making that trip together again, but not in a working capacity.Bobby Bottleservice wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 8:44 pmjunior wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:25 pmWes was always a bit different than the other 4 guys.Bobby Bottleservice wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:04 pm

Ok, so I looked up some interviews and it seems that Wes and Fred are pretty down to earth, so I can see that you would have some fun times together. I also had to look up Limp B and Opiate again. it is a 2013 show and the band sounded really good, but I can not lie, Fred still sounded like crap. He is obviously not a real singer.
Junior, I do hope that you guys get going late this year (maybe wishful thinking). Any optimistic talk from you and your crew?
I'd be up for that. My lighting crew chief lives in Brisbane. He's probably eager to get out of Aussie for a while, but would gladly do any shows, I'm sure.Busty McCracken wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:56 am I reckon they should all just relocate to aus , quarantine and then just keep touring around the island in circles. Im sure their families wouldn't mind.

Damn! I just checked the Covid numbers in Australia and you guys are doing something right! Still not looking great in the US, but at least vaccines have been rolling out the last couple of weeks.Busty McCracken wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:11 pmNice!!junior wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:02 amI'd be up for that. Might not be that much of a pipedream after all. Just read this link below. We should become the touring/ sporting mecha of the world right now. Turn this shitfight into a positive.

I'm not sure my wallet will cope with 2022, or whenever touring becomes a thing again, as I suspect there might be a flood of showsBusty McCracken wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:11 pm Might not be that much of a pipedream after all. I mentioned earlier that Wes Borland has great music. I guess his solo stuff is under "Black light burns" and the album that I'm talking about is "Cruel Melody". It is a very well put together album. I have not listened to any other of his stuff. But this a great listen.Whowatchesthewampas wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 6:19 amI've always heard his other stuff he's done outside of LB is pretty well done.
