Because they're both black troopers in the desert. Easy as that. I think you might be reading way too much into this.

Edit: I'm guessing the fact that the trooper didn't look like Jango Fett brought extra attention too.

I caught a little bit of that State of Affairs show with Katherine Heigl. The episode was about a group of Middle Eastern or African girls that got kidnapped and are being held hostage by terrorists or something. Anyways one of the girls tries to escape and she 's running around in one of those Network TV lit forests and gets caught by a guard who says this gem of a line: "Such fight. So strong." Apparently the terrorist group is being led by doge.
