We'll see I guess. I would have said that Michael Keaton would have made a shit Batman too, but that turned out pretty well imo.

Yeah, I don't really have a problem with Ben Affleck. We'll have to see how this turns out, but I can totally see him as a playboy millionaire.
It's billionaire, Vicki. Millionaires are so last year.

Um no. Keaton was seen as a bad choice at first, but he proved them wrong.

Affleck isn't a bad actor, but he's not even close to Keaton's league. I find that argument invalid. Sure he could pull off the playboy millionaire, but I don't think I could buy him as Batman.

Before anyone brings up the Ledger argument, that dude had at least shown some legit high level acting props before TDK.

Affleck has been in some stinkers, but he's been in some pretty good movies as well. Argo & Good Will Hunting come to mind.

I'm not saying he's the ideal choice for Batman, and having a decent script and director will make a much bigger impact anyway.

I liked Daredevil and Dogma. I think he's a good actor. Doesn't mean he's a good fit for Batman. I hope I'm wrong. I'm wrong a lot so there's a good chance that's happening.

That's a terrible argument. That, and the Ledger argument people have been throwing around today on the interweb superinformation highway.

Affleck is nowhere in the same league as those actors. Nor was Keaton's Batman the same tone as what this inevitable piece of shit is going to be.

We will see - you're right. But at this point, it feels as though Hollywood is mocking us.

Seriously, this goes beyond Affleck and Batman. This is about Hollywood cokeheads thinking that we, the actual bosses (we pay their wage, remember? with our money? at the box office? and on merchandise?), will swallow any shit they feed us just because it has iconic neo-mythical heroes. It's bullshit.

I'd like to see things like Kickstarter REALLY start to produce great independent movies. A Batman story, for example, in the hands of a true fan, would be amazing. Again. Because Nolan's iteration was wonderful.

To be honest, I don't expect this movie will be good. I tend to go into most comic adaptions with pretty low hopes, because the hit rate is quite low. Affleck doesn't fill me with any confidence at all, but I see no reason to disregard the movie entirely just yet.

There are plenty of movies where someone is seemingly miscast and it works out well. Look at Daniel Craig in James Bond for instance. People were pretty critical when he was announced, and it turned out quite well.

It's all too easy these days, especially with the internet for people to judge things without really giving them a change. Sure, this movie would turn out to be a steaming pile of shit, and it could be all Affleck's fault, but surely judgement should be rendered after people have had a chance to see it.

Diplomatic, as usual. And, you're right, to an extent.

Well, there's also The Justice League to consider here. And I hope they make that work somehow. It has potential.

@ Hellboy, good points dude.

Patron Oswalt is awesome but that reply is way too serious. It's a movie, let people bitch about it. 95% of them are gonna watch it anyway (so am I)

I really, really, dislike Patton Oswalt. Everyone seems to think he's some comedic genius, but he's just another bland, boring, ugly, fat dude.

I like him mostly because of his character in King Of Queens (under rated show). His stand up is ok but nothing special.

I think he's pretty hilarious

He was also great in United States of Tara, a criminally underrated comedy full of feels and hilarity.
