I think time may have deluded your guys recollections as to how utterly ridiculous the originals were. Only thing is, ridiculous was kinda ok in the early 90s.

Well, it was ridiculous, but at least it was funny

Says your 40 year old brain and sense of humour. If you expected a funny non forced movie that you would appreciate as a grown adult, well.... ya may need to reset your expectations.
I just googled excellent adventure and this was from the first original review I found.
"If the director, Stephen Herek, has any talent for comedy, it's not visible here. More than anything, the picture looks paltry and undernourished. Even the warts on Lincoln's face look slapped on."

I didn't want to say it, but Jumanji isn't a high bar.

Lets be real here, Bill and Ted are on the same comedic level of a Pauly Shore movie and no one is rushing to remake Biodome. This style of comedy hasn't aged well at all.
If Reeves wasn't still a huge star this wouldn't be happening.

Jeebus, those fuckers are old.
I doubt I’d make it very far watching that, and there’s no way I’d pay for the privilege.

Nailed it!
And jumanji welcome to the jungle was a great modern day remake of an old loved film , which was well received by the youth and oldies. Something I don't see happening here. People like yourself will lijely label it as being stupid and not funny. Which is kinda what the originals were in the first place. But we were kids and they were relevant at the time. This does not appear relevant..... at all.

Crazy Samurai Musashi (2020)
This film, taken around the time of "Out and Deluxe," consists of the most famous battle of the swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. In this 77-minute, one-scene, no-cut action sequence, Miyamoto (Tak Sakaguchi) defeats 588 enemies, one after the other. There is no room for error, no room for corny or unconvincing moves.
Trailer two makes it look substantially better than trailer one did.
