The Hand That Feeds is easily his worst song, worse than anything on The Slip.  "Deep" is also worse than anything on The Slip.

The Slip is pretty good in my opinion, except for tracks 6-9 which just drag forever.

And hey, he gave it away for free.

I'll defend Corona Radiata and The Four Of Us Are Dying. They make for some interesting white noise.

tolerable at best and only in comparison to the rest of the trash that makes up that album

you are so wrong on every level of your post. my opinion is so much better than yours!

also, he gave it away because he knew his 3 hours put in were a complete waste and the album sucked too much to charge for it.

Wait, wait.  You insinuated The Slip is bad, then I sort of agreed on tracks 6-9, then you disagreed with that...

Pete LOVES THE SLIP!!!

Well, you aren't wrong.  I remember reading in an interview somewhere that it was basically a challenge to himself to see if he could make an album in like 2 weeks.

I don't think it sucks, except for the previously mentioned tracks, but it's ok if you do.  It does nothing to diminish the fire that burns within me for you.

I think it's a terrible song.

deepdeepdeepdeepdeepshut the fuck up!

One of the few times Trent's music has annoyed the shit out of me, only The Hand That Feeds annoys me more.

It's really no different to anything on his last three albums.

It was the shape of things to come, really, when you think about it (when it came out).

EDIT:

LULZ what the fuck did I do?

Nevermind, what I wrote wasn't that great anyway (as per usual).

Holy shit, dates with Explosions In the Sky & Godspeed You! Black Emperor? Yes please. I wonder if there are some cues in the selection of supporting acts as to the direction the next album will take.

I think my head is about to explode- NIN over load, in a good way.

The more I listen to the new single the more I like it. Not to sound like a fan boy but it needs to be listened to on proper speakers or headphones if you haven't listened to it that way yet.

If you need high-end gear to appreciate a song, it can't have been that good to begin with.

Mozart over AM radio through one speaker still sounds sublime, for example.

First time through the song was listening from my iPhone speakers, and wasn't sure what to make of it. The more I listen to it the more I like it. Hey- it's my favorite band/artist and I'm pretty damn excited about all the news that's come out over the past week.

Glad you're enjoying the new song, Krazy. I wish I liked it as much as you do (huge NIN fan but I only think its ok).

But I've never bought the whole "you gotta hear it like this" argument when it comes to music, Crow's example was a good, um, example.

First few times I heard Tool was in a shitty car cd player and I was still hooked.

Apparently the original link was the radio edit version.

I like the regular version much better. Now we're talking.

The artwork for this album was created by Russell Mills, who previously collaborated with the band for the 1994 album The Downward Spiral

And the production for the arena tour should be fucking amazing:

"Picking up where Lights in the Sky left off, this is the full-on NIN live experience realized as we never could before."

Regarding production:

Rob Sheridan‏@rob_sheridan59m

@glenn_grubbs It sure as hell is. Two productions: One for the summer festivals, totally different for Fall.

I'll be at the Minneapolis show- I'll be the dude wearing ONLY black flip- flops and black socks.

Not sure where else I plan on going to yet.  Will have to decide this weekend.

If a band plays Lolla, they cannot play within a 300 miles radius 6 months prior to and 3 months after their show.  Unfortunate but I assume they get paid a lot of money to sign that contract.

Also expect more dates eventually so don't count out another Chicago show- Trent said this tour will be roughly a year and a half.  I'm guessing they'll be going over seas though again.
