Ok, I'm about to board a flight to Barcelona and then to Paris and finally get into Berlin around 8 Saturday night...
I believe the crisis has been avoided.
Oof. And I thought travelling from western Germany to Berlin just for a show would be borderline too much effort.
Good luck!
I'm now drinking special beer in Berlin, waiting to go to the concert tomorrow with a friend of mine. We arrived thursday afternoon. We are counting the hours and are very exciting. I'm curious if the setlist will be the same as the american tour.
I'll be in Prague tomorrow. My health is fucked, it seems like a got a flu a couple of days ago. I was in coma, but I now I'm alive. Nothing will stop me from attending the show. This is all so surreal.
- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

Just came back from the Berlin show. Setlist was the same as the recent US shows (Intolerance, 12 minute break before CCTrip).
The band was in great shape! Adam seemed to have some ongoing discussion with his tech and guitar problems, including a broken string (?) and a guitar exchange on the fly during Vicarious. During the intro of Invincible Justin gestured in sync to Dannys off-beat percussion part, until the audience started clapping along, and in turn threw Danny and/or Adam off the groove for a moment, which was kind of funny.
I was really impressed by the light & screens, the visuals have grown considerably since I've seen them last in 2006. That was quite the thing from the third row.
I'm German but I hate Germans for doing this clapping thing. I think it is in our genes or something. To get into the marching rythm? I don't know.
Full on acid ca. 15th row standing? Best tool experience ever compared to 2006. As mentioned same setlist with intolerance. I liked the additional screens which came down in front of the band to give some 3d action. Ugly monsters jump your fried brain and you pay for it, call me again I will your best client.
Adam's return on vicarious was nice and justin really had fun. I really hope now Danny's cctrip will be on the record, felt like a real UFO-abduction. Maynard mocked the audience right after vicarious to grab their mobile phones to record the last song. Yeah nobody really thinks about what he sang a minute ago... stupid Germans, again.
But learned some nice people from England, Ireland, Czech republic and even Morocco after the gig. It really was time for Tool to come back here.
Damn ziggy that sounds scary, glad you're feeling better now. Can't freaking wait to leave Sweden and go see Tool, 6 days left until I leave for Poland!
Oh, and I've got to say - I really appreciated the "no phones" policy (mostly "enforced" by numerous announcements before the show, though I saw security calling out people a couple of times). I wish more bands did this. The only other band I've seen being so strict about this is King Crimson, with Robert Fripp even picking up a flashlight during songs and pointing towards offenders for security.
Question about that : In the Netherlands is has been quite common to have tickets on your phone. So I can show this at the entrance and then turn my phone off, right?
What an amazing show in Berlin last night. This band really does become better with age!! We were the first couple of people into the venue because of our early entrance into the diamond ballroom. The ballroom was a bit difficult to find because of the language barrier lol, but it was well worth the effort. When we arrived there was maybe 10 people in the suite. Turns out the beer was FREE, if you've ever met me you know that could be a problem. Anyways we are on a train to Prague now. More details coming soon.
