Went to monolith festival in Brisbane last night. Fuck me it was amazing to see ma boys do their thing again last night! Then to get Karnivool on top as an added bonus just made it all the sweeter.

Anyone aussies here been, going ??

Saw them on Thursday night - Cog were great but a little rusty. The sound during Karnivool was pretty rubbish, and since I don't really like the band I left about 3/4 through their set.

Jealous as hell for both. Sorry the sound sucked HB.

Just exited the Paris catacombs and saw someone in a Tool shirt. Checks out.

Spewing to hear sound was no good, was pretty on point in Briz considering was an outdoors show. Cog must have got their rust out in Adelaide coz they were as good as always to my ears, but in fairness am a pretty big fan boy. I adore the shit out of Karnivool's first two albums and last time I saw them was when they were touring Sound Awake so hold good memories of that show. Everything they've released since Sound Awake has been fairly mediocre to me so is a reflection of what their set was. Just as it started getting good, they'd throw in a newer song and crowd energy would go right down. Still great to see em after all these years.

They've only released one other album and a single since Sound Awake, geez.

They played animation as well which never got an official release and is a bit meh imo. Basically a third of their set was post sound awake and mixed intermittently into the set so just a real up and down energy throughout. All power to anyone that digs Aysmmetry onwards, have tried but just cant get into it. You going to Sydney Monolith?
