After finally breaking the wife and getting VIP for Eugene 2020 only to be shut down by a pandemic, I'm finally getting my chance to see Tool via the VIP experience. Scooped up a Eugene OR 2nd Row VIP package for myself after the wife gave me her blessing for an early birthday present. Was able to score 6 more tickets this morning for me and five of my best friends to see the Portland OR show. This will be the first show for three of them and shows nine and ten for me. Going to be a hell of a week!

The use of these cover bands is a shame, they get a pass for Brass Against because who wouldn't want to be closer to Sophia Urista?

Despite the fact that earthrocker posted him doing a cover, Steel Beans aren't really a cover band

A little rough in parts, but still a fun listen.

i don't know if this is the right place to share this but the Power Trip show last night was absolutely killer. i was far away in GA so the view to see band was far from ideal but the sound was excellent and setlist packed a serious punch. the visuals for rosetta were awesome. stage was incredibly wide but not tall. i was in front of left screen and most people seemed content to watch the screen (fixed camera angle, no closeups) rather than the actual stage. shrug...to each their own.

i hadn't seen swamp song in who knows how long (if ever) and the aenema lyrics while situated halfway between LA and AZ drew a wry smile to my face. also saw it played at that site coachella 2006 but that was a way different atmosphere in huge throng of people. there was a notable deviation (jam) in pneuma, very welcome. decent grudge scream.

i had a 3 day wristband but only went sunday. it pained me to miss maiden and ac/dc (i probably should have tried harder for ac/dc) but tool made the whirlwind round trip worthwhile. metallica were the same of what i saw at sofi stadium in august. powerful but nothing unique for the festival.

I too was thrilled with the performance last night (in the grandstands). Tool were a bit of a misfit in the lineup but my experience was they won over a good chunk of the crowd.

It’s like Christmas Eve. Show number 9 tomorrow in Eugene and my first VIP experience. Row 2 Seat 7 infront of my guitar hero AJ himself! Then head back to PDX for Thursday show making it an even 10. Get to go with 5 of my best friends, 3 of which have never seen Tool (1 has never been to an actual concert lol). Gonna be a magical 3 days and I’m just grateful to have the opportunity. Cheers to all those getting to see them this go around!

Jr, I’ll gladly take a mixing booth setlist 😏😉
