"TOOL will release a handcrafted, bonus-laden, limited edition package of their original debut EP, Opiate, on Mar. 26 to mark the 21st anniversary of the six-song release.

The anniversary edition is limited to 5,000 copies and features art direction by Adam Jones, illustrations by legendary artist Adi Granov and design packaging by Mackie Osborne, who has collaborated with TOOL on many albums including 10,000 Days, Lateralus and Salival as well as posters and merchandise.

The 5,000 copies will be broken down as 5 x 1,000 runs with each set featuring a variation of the exterior graphics and included bonus items which include a new stereoscopic image for fans to use with their glasses from the 10,000 Days packaging.

The packages will only be available via TOOL's website (www.toolband.com) on Mar. 26 and there will be no pre-orders. A limit of three packages from each of the 5 x 1,000 versions will be in place. More details to be announced soon."

Opiate is still pretty widely available.  A re-release of Salival would've been cooler, for those who may have missed out on the initial run.

^Yea its on their FB page.

Gotta be honest here, this doesn't excite me, unless the bonus stuff includes an old unreleased song or two.

The new art sounds interesting but not enough to fork out cash for it on its own.

There are a few news articles if you Google it. Of course, Tool will probably "officially" announce it next month some time.

Meh, not looking forward to hearing how much this will cost. Under $20, I might buy it.  Probably not though, I'm cheap as fuckk.

His comic book art is awesome, but I've never seen his work outside of that realm.

Maybe they want something that looks 90sish for the 90s era album?  Isn't Adam doing comic books in his spare time now?  I'll just reserve judgement until I see it.

I know it's been awhile but I went to look at my Opiate reissue this weekend and basically all the adhesive has come undone so the box completely unfolds. Wondering if anyone else has this problem? Also thought about just unfolding the damn box and getting the entire thing framed up somehow. Was curious if anyone else had framed theirs up?

I don't remember who it was but there was somebody here who framed theirs. They posted a picture.

Sounds like a problem with the air/temperature with where you've kept it. We probably would've heard about this by now from other people were it an issue with cheap glue.

It is true. The packaging was held together by cheap glue. I ordered three for friends and one of them was completely unglued. It is stuffed so tightly and the glue is so cheap, it is only a matter of time before it falls apart.

I would like to frame mine as well but am unsure of how to go about it.
