FINALLY saw Queens this past weekend at Hangout Festival here. They were as amazing as I expected although: festival set. Can't be avoided. Now I must see them at their own show.

Good to hear. They are consistently excellent performers. I never mind much where I see them. They are not a band that needs the bells and whistles and a bare staged festival set in the sunshine works well for them.

Front Row last night at QOTSA. Such a good fun time.

Josh's wife opened the show, and then gave me the setlist after QOTSA peformed.

Looks like Queens of the Stone Age are headlining the Splendour in the Grass Festival here Down Under. Not sure if this is an exclusive date, or if a tour will follow.

cool, I've been having Homme withdrawals.

Same. I thoroughly enjoyed ...Like Clockwork.

So.. Homme has kids of his own, wrote/played on Lady Gaga's latest album, recorded/toured with Iggy, is currently going through a lawsuit and still managed to write and record a QOTSA album in approximately 4 years. Amazing.

To be fair though, you only need to know about 4 guitar chords to write a QOTSA album

Omar Rodriguez Lopez released 15 albums last year and Tool can't even do 1 in 10 years?!?

How many of those albums were any good though?

The 14 ones I didn't listen to were probably good.

Besides the fact that that was a joke. I imagine there's probably enough decent material across all those albums to make one good album.

One day I'm going to write 15 albums in one year.

I believe King Gizzard and The Lizard are going to try and do something like that this year. So if you're going to do it, you should do it now while it's still cool.

If they're doing it then it's no longer cool.

Strange move playing Darwin and skipping most of the other big capitals. Good to see our northern brothers and sisters getting a show though.
