Well, QOTSA albums have been pretty hit and miss since Songs for the Deaf, so my expectations are pretty low on this, despite Like Clockwork being the best they've done in some time.

Pete Douglas asks Queens of the Stone Age about their new album, classic rock and fate of the humble guitar.
Had a listen to it this even. Fears that it was going to turn out to be a pop album were unfounded, though it's not a dark album by any means.
After first listen though, I think it's reasonably good. Probably not as good as their last, but not too far behind. Has a couple of standout tracks, in particular The Evil Has Landed.

After several listens, I'll give it a 7.5/10. This album might end up falling or gaining a point later down the road. Not sure on this one yet.

I find it to be really not good. The first song and 2nd songs are OK, but then jesus what a boring record. I've listened about 4 times now, so I don't know if somehow it will just click at some point or what...

Boring is a pretty apt description. A couple of decent tracks, but the rest just don't appear to have much depth to them.
