essentially, on principle, I agree with both of you at certain levels of the game ... granted, I still think ticket scalpers are scum level human beings regardless of the free market and whether or not the current ticketing systems are negligent in relation.

To be entirely honest, the few, sought after tool items I do have, should I ever need to unload them, would definitely be priced to make a good buck because FUCK YOU, that's why.

Looks like Puscifer's in the studio judging from all the stuff that's been posted on Facebook.

New DC merch:
Coming up with the design for DANNY'S latest shirt was somewhat of a no-brainer. What does the Tool drummer feel most comfortable wearing while performing shows? The answer, of course, being sports jerseys from his favorite teams (such as his beloved KU Jayhawks), with at other times tee shirts replete with esoteric symbolism. So, we combined these at times disparate elements to create a unique hybrid - a purple sports jersey with a few magickal touches. Thus, MERCH unveils the CAREY RHYTHM 93, a HIGH QUALITY CUSTOM MEN'S JERSEY to be worn or displayed in a frame.
SPECS:
CUSTOM MEN'S JERSEY, MADE IN GERMANY
POLYESTER ENGINEERED CLIMACOOL MESH
ORIGINAL DESIGN, T-NECK, AND K-TEX PATTERN
4 THREAD-OVERLOCK STITCH PATTERN TO ENSURE SUPERIOR STRENGTH AND DURABILITY
THERMAL SUBLIMATION - PRINT WON'T FADE OR DETERIORATE,
WHILE FABRIC REMAINS BREATHABLE

“I’m hoping that we have something really solid recorded by the end of the year,” said drummer Danny Carey. “But we’ll see how it goes. I thought that last year, too… But we’re making great progress. We’ve really knocked out a lot of good things, especially over the last month. We’re all excited about it.”

If (and that's a HUGE IF) he's hoping something is recorded in the next couple months then May Jay has been involved for quite some time now.

Again, HUGE IF.

Grape harvest finished not all that long ago, so I wouldn't get too excited just yet. I imagine the recent photo is Maynard in the Loft with the rest of the guys as they work through the progress of adding lyrics to the material. From what Blair has told me, and I've read in various places Maynard is really good (and quick) at putting lyrics to music, so I doubt this will be a hugely long process, but you'd think there would need to be some tweaking of the material written so far to fit whatever themes and structures Maynard comes up with.

I'll be surprised if Tool hit the studio this year, but I could certainly see them laying down tracks in the first few months of 2015.

It's worth noting that the DC quote comes from the Rolling Stone article some months ago, so it's not a new update on the album at all. With the new Loft photo out, it seems a lot of the music media are clutching at straws racing to be the first to claim Tool are in the studio. Don't believe the hype!

The headline of that "news flash" is misleading. So misleading, in fact, it made me want to punch something.

Or at the very least slam my coffee cup down.

Just get used to it all around if you haven't already. This is what happens now that everyone just fucking loooooooooves bullshit garbage like Buzzfeed and the like. The people have spoken, and they want sensational bullshit that may or may not be accurate at all. Actual journalism as we used to know it is almost 100% dead.

The day is looming when I may make a return to this god forsaken site!!!! I'm hesitant to say "new album on the horizon"... but when it happens maybe ill contribute again.

Just got bored of the day-in day-out bullshit that goes on around here. When the new album is released we will all have something worth while to discuss.

I do have to counter my own statement though and say I'm also optimistic that one day it will return. I think things move in cycles and this particular one is kind of a new wrinkle. People will eventually hunger for actual facts and reporting again and grow tired of unreliable bullshit.

Journalism is no where near 100% dead. It all depends on where you get your news. The sad reality is these days most sites are just interested in reporting on what they think will get the most clicks, which really isn't that different from how TV news and newspapers have been operating for the last 30 years.
