Some kind of "Salival 2" ;-)

...and the Tool Christmas album, of course.

are Busty and i the only ones that dont do records ? i never had it, never bothered and wouldnt after all these years.

i doubt its Lateralus. the orig vinyl is still around even though its ''limited edition''. Same thing with the FI special packaging if you look on amazon, apparently.

i'd be excited for a new single of some kind. Take the different approach and make an E.P like Danny mentioned. Or release something LIVE for fuck sakes! Being they cant do concerts its the perfect time to bring the live to a release, even if its just a few songs or something.

I didnt mean the dvd or vhs, but the CD. Live stuff, "B-sides" or whatever. Would be easy money to produce something like that ;-)

All in all you're right. It's not THAT exciting.

Mackie Osbourne did say that the FI vinyl package has been completed, but there are no designs made for vinyl reissues of the older albums. Mostly likely gonna be a pre-order for the FI vinyl tomorrow, maybe available by Summer given Adam's choice of "Summer Bloom" in that IG post.

If its gonna be a FI vinyl, I hope this will not be exclusive to the toolband store.

Pretty sure there'd be a substantially higher base of fans that would get extremely excited about live releases be it by the way of audio / visual than compared to a record release but yeah... good response mate.

And yep, ween record drives me crazy with its boogie oogie oogie oogie oogie oogie. Boogie..... oogie.

I also once had the record for most times kicked out of the local pub so I guess that makes two records Busty has owned.

I had records in the 70's and 80's. In the 70's it was still the best quality format, unless you had a large format reel-to-reel tape machine, I suppose. I didn't have one of those, but I remember that format as an option in the Columbia House Record and Tape Club.
I know all the arguments about analogue vs. digital, but to me the CD was the right step. Clearer sound with next to no maintenance compared to trying to keep records pristine, and portability as a bonus. To each their own, but it made the most sense for me.
Last year I got out an old turntable and listened to some of my vinyl for the first time in many years. The belt slipped off the platter at some point and the motor burned out. Not really sure how/when, but it did. The price of a good turntable to replace it is cost prohibitive now that they are "it" items again, so I really hadn't even thought about it up until I read this. I guess I view my records as museum pieces at this point, not as a viable listening experience.

You know....90% of the time being a Tool fan is pure torture.

10% is the time listening to their few songs.

I was kinda hoping that clicking on the final tab listed as 'Fear Inoculum' would suddenly reveal you can order it on vinyl or some new 'deluxe' version or another update they've made but... nothing too exciting. :(

When the signed Lateralus vinyls were just quietly sitting there many many years ago that was so cool. Today was the opposite I guess.

Also, because it had promised "New Everything" I was incredibly excited when I saw the fourth tab said TOUR. For about half a second I thought "Maybe they might be able to pencil in some November 2021 dates" etc.

It was a fun half a second while it lasted...

As a Tool fan you sometimes just have to cry.

They actually added a countdown to get us hyped up for this shit. And why didn't they give paying members of their fan club first opportunity to purchase? So lame.

This is just fair, because they would have bought everything before we got the chance to.
Everybodys waiting for new shirts, oh yeah. :|
