It actually has Problem 8 on the USB drive, but only on 46.2% of 10,000 copies, and it’s encoded in the Fibonacci sequence.

The thing is (ahem), the first rule of Problem 8 is...

Actually, let me back up here, because I'd hate to send you down the same frustrating and circuitous path I found myself on while attempting to follow the breadcrumbs and decipher all of those cleverly hidden clues in the Newsletters over the years. The real "problem" here is that not all of the clues have yet been revealed.

First, one only need read the correct pages (or perhaps the pages in the correct order) of that humble tome...Ijinx. It is the key. This was the first mistake I made, thinking it perhaps a path of its own, but no.

Marketed as a a unique collection of occult prose-poems by an author who has been studying, experimenting, and writing about the western esoteric tradition for over twenty years, many have dismissed it as rambling nightside symbolism wrapped in magical vocabulary (including encounters with the transmundane entities that inhabit these parallel continua), but in fact reveals a higher Arcanum and the alchemical entelechy of the dead. Challenging even the author's initiated interpretation of things perceived, a closer examination of the cryptic word play (anti-apotropaic in nature) suggests that there's more than just fleeting glimpses of the Grand Dreaming to a Treasured Eye (i.e. a hidden track).

I suggest a large and hot cup of herbal tea, with just a drop of locally sourced organic (goddammit) honey, an open window, and plenty of incense. All to put one's mind in the proper frame of mind to begin the journey.

Next, obviously, is to dive straight into The Othering. Set aside enough time to read it in one sitting, but only during daylight. This is the only way the book reveals itself. Speed is key to this one. No lingering here, or I guarantee that your thoughts will succumb to doubt and soon enough you'll be seeing will-o'-the-wisps appearing just out of sight as the next twilight approaches. No coming back from that.

Ever onward...The Paragon Junk. Ha! What a misnomer. Paragon indeed, and I assume "junk" being another attempt to throw off the skeptics and fair-weathered followers. Everything's in plain sight here. No mystery at all. Read for yourself and convince me otherwise.

And finally, Grumble's Star leading us to...

But maybe I've already said too much. ;)

Buzz and Mackie Osborne were on the latest episode of the Making Ways podcast, talking about the art of Melvins music, but Mackie also talked about some other things she's doing, including this bit about Tool reissues about 11 minutes into the episode:

"I'm also working on some really limited edition things for Tool who are rereleasing all of their back catalog on this very limited edition package. And then they're also gonna rerelease all the back catalog in kind of the standard way. Standard for them, which is not standard... but they'll be mass produced. There's a limited edition thing that's going to be very limited. And then they're rereleasing 10,000 Days which has never been on vinyl."

I'll take 2 and a poster.

10000 Days and Aenima on vinyl would be great though.

I bet a fat-ass, dirty dollar that they won't even be remastered or include any bonus tracks.

Just give us Salival II

Why should any or their music be remastered?
Oh well, except 10000 Days, of course...

I thought all of the albums were already remastered, just before they were released on streaming platforms.

Tool Streaming/Remastered Versions

I imagine it'll be these remastered versions used on the upcoming re-releases.
