Danny left a usb drive in the bathroom of the movie theater with 3 new songs on it. Titled: Planet of the EP.

 Found this on the front page:

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is anything of importance but check out the update that Blair just posted on toolband.com

“D.O.T.P.O.T.A.
It’s good to know that there was at least one perceptive reader of Danny’s recent quote on the Tool Facebook Page…”

Then check out the posts on that comment for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, in particular the ones from “Damien Rios”….

“their doing it old school, they’re not gonna tell anyone shit. its time to start getting in touch with your record stores because it can come out anyday now.”

“or july if they’re counting the number of words in the title, DOTPOTA thats7 words”

“they’re saying dawn of the planet of the apes has 8 vowels, he’s telling us it comes out in august”

“THE NEW ALBUM COMES OUT IN AUGUST”

“august 5th actually”

“september 5th”

“way to figure it out and get credit from tool”

…………………………………………………… Blair could just mean that he’s perceptive with regard to his statement “they’re not gonna tell anyone shit.” …. which seems logical and perceptive…

Also according to the front page people don't think that was Adam playing the guitar in that video he posted awhile back.

I'll be amazed if there is an album out in August or September.

It's just as likely the post Blair is referring to is: "So many whiney bitches. You DO NOT rush the TOOL!"

Also, it amazes me that people are dumb enough to say stupid shit on Facebook.

Well, I'm not surprised. There are stupid people out there, but as I don't consider myself some kind of genius by any stretch, it always seems odd that people say dumb shit in public.

I mean it's one thing to say stupid stuff on a forum or reddit or something where you're hiding behind a user name. But on Facebook where you are largely identified by your actual name - seems like a new level of dumb.

You over-estimate the self-control of the average human being.

Or maybe you under-estimate the propensity of the human being to
be stupid, especially when around other human beings, no matter the forum.

either way....you're right.

I don't know how and where these people find the strength to face their colleagues the next day.

I say stupid shit all the time on Facebook because I'm a fucking idiot.

I don't use my real name on it, though.

YOUR MOVE, HELLJOI.

Seriously? Who died and made you king of social media?

Nothing wrong with being a dumbass on the internet, no matter what the flavour. Forums, chat rooms, social media - whatever.

But I agree with you to an extent: If you're dumb enough to have your work friends on Facebook, and then choose to embarrass yourself - you deserve everything you get.

I'm not stirring. Just trying to put myself in people's shoes.

Being an anonymous dumbass is fun, that's for sure. We all do it.

If I said something really stupid or embarrassing (of which I do) and people knew that it was me who posted it then I would die right there on the spot. In my line of work it would not go down well.

I agree.

And God knows I give myself ample opportunity.

I've gotta be careful now because I've added my two favourite work friends to Facebook. There's a reason for me to pull back on the stupid shit right there for me.

And yet I literally just posted a BON JOVI vid on my Facebook. LOL x 100

Fuck, I just can't help myself, can I.

I plain don't give a flying fuck who thinks what about anything I have to say.
I am WAY the fuck past giving a shit about that.
If they don't like it...well,
like my dear old Granny used to say...

"Fuck 'em in the ass with a telephone pole."

Haha! Great advice.

The worst thing is growing up in an ultra conservative family.

For those interested, Kanaduh's notes from the 2014 Tool Tour are now up on Fourtheye. It's an interesting read, though all largely issues we've already discussed in this forum:

Question for those who are legit bothered/mad/etc about the long delay:

If it was a double album, would that change things for you?

I agree. Let's discuss the article, and not post stuff that has already been thrashed to death in the Grudge thread.
