I'd be super-cautious after releasing something like "10,000 DAYS", too.

This is a perfect time for them to release a Salival type of release. Salival II with a few live tracks. Would be good lawsuit money + they would please their fans, a lot. Heck, maybe even put out a statement.
"We're thankful that you stick with us, 8 years is a long time but we can't rush perfection."

Why not that instead of that bullshit Opiate re-release.

It is so incredibly absolutely fucking unbelievably astoundingly absurdly totally not the best time to do this.

What, are you high?!

"Here's some shit we couldn't be fucked with releasing earlier. Also, we'll be recording pretty soon. Sorry about all the cash-grabs. Hugz 4eva, Jone$y & tha Bois."

While I agree they usually do that pre new album release, like just before they enter the studio to generate interest, see Salival & the DVD releases of Schism and Parabola.

Well, it didn't stop them releasing Salival in the lead up to the much delayed Lateralus.

I'd rather have that instead of a new Puscifer EP, amirite?

^ and look how that turned out. A fucking masterpiece that is still not appreciated. There are those few of us who "get it"

Not that I condone a Salival II, I'd much prefer new tunes.

I was heavily into playing in a punk band between Aenima and Lateralus, so barely even noticed the whole delay between the albums, despite loving Aenima.

I couldn't admit to liking Tool though, I would have been laughed out of the punk clubs like a former straight edger having a beer.

I remember fucking sinking my teeth into APC due to the delay between Aenima and Lateralus.

Aye, Mer de Noms was the replacement during those days.

Good evening. I have read this forum for a long, long time, and this is my first post.

I think the latest RS article is a ruse. I think TOOL are the "Boy who cried Wolf", it is difficult to take them seriously with anything they release publicly, given their history... They may well have had significant legal issues, but I don't buy the lack of progress statement. I think they are building social media hype....

Nightwish is keeping a diary of their forthcoming album.

If TooL would do this we would see many grill festivities I assume.

Dear diary,

We wrote a sweet new riff today. Actually, we didn't. I wrote the riff today. It was my idea. I'm taking the rest of the week off. Laters.

Dear diary, today I'm still stuck at the new riff I've been working on. I started with it back in jan 2013 and I'm still working on it. I hope the guys will like this, after all, Hooker with a penis is a dull song without my expertise and extension ideas. Oh yeah right, the new album... meh, that can wait. You can't rush perfection, right?!?!?

Dear Diary,

My fingers smell like fish after playing with my butthole earlier. I have a great new poster idea.
