There's not any real new news there, and to be honest I don't think he builds a compelling case, but it would come as no surprise to me if Tool were working on a movie.
What type of movie do you envision them making? Like a live concert DVD?
Nah, probably a Lethal Weapon style buddy comedy

Heres my idea...

Tool is working on a new album, that will be released along side a Tool movie.. The movie will be a collection of different things. My random ass guess is that the LP and the Movie are meant to be played at the same time. Finally having an album that actually lashes up with a movie much like people assume Dark side of the moon and Wizard of Oz do.

If anyone is crazy enough to do this, its Adam Jones... and he knows he has to go bigger and better than 10000 days. Regardless of what you thought about the album, its packaging was so different and forward thinking. They have to do better than that this time.

If anyone's interested, I've tried synching up Tool's Aenima album with Mario Bava's 1971 horror exploitation masterpiece, Twitch Of The Death Nerve and....yeah, it didn't really work.

I don't think there will be any syncing necessary if they are in fact making a movie. The album will be the soundtrack to the movie. No need to sync 2 different types of media together in 2015. I keep going back to Justin saying that this is the biggest project of their lives. I could see Adam working on a 90 minute CGI-based film to go along with the music. Something akin to what the Vicarious video turned out being. They have been talking about doing a project like the Wall for a long time.

Also, it's not just the packaging that Tool will try to go bigger on. For how long it has taken them to write this music, THE MUSIC better be bigger than 10K Days.

I don't think a movie would be much more than a collection of visuals, or a collection of short features to Tools music. Creating a story for a short 5 minute film is one thing, creating a story for a 90 minute "feature" film is another thing entirely. Maybe Adam is up to the task - who knows. It is a very large step though.

It would explain the 10 year wait......better than lawsuits.

I don't really care either way. The music is all that is important to me. The rest is just filler, possibly great filler.

if it is Salival II i doubt it will all be Live versions of songs... i think we might get 2-3 live versions of tracks, but Tool knows we can listen to all those songs on youtube. They would put something on it that is unreleased. Or (fingers crossed) a completed studio version of Cold and Ugly.

in a way i guess... if you consider the Dan Solo from the 2014 tour that was prior to Intension an "extension"

DRT with Hawk from Tricky would be interesting, however doubtful.

It would also fucking suck. I hate that version haha.

edit: Don't get me wrong, it was an admirable attempt and all that. I just have such a love for that song-trilogy, it is the epitome of a song I would never want to hear a guest on. Especially vocally.

Those Triad recording(s) with Haake are pretty rad, although it's kinda hard to hear just how much he contributed. Carey nailed it though. Those drum cam recordings with whoever's guest are just mental, but again it's just Carey I'm appreciating.

Anyone remember that Argentinian (?) dudes post that traced the exif geo tag on a pic Adam posted and it went to a video studio somewhere in LA, then he found their current project list and it basically said 'the pot video'.... Long time ago? Where's that post? Cheers.

The prowess of the falcon is, indeed, a thing; somewhere.
From the multiple choice answers-
I choose J

I think because the guys are getting older, it just takes longer. It will be worth the wait.
