so, say it's you're birthday and you have a relative that lives on the other side of the planet that wasn't sure what to actually get you for such a special occasion such as a 50th solar return and you receive an email first thing in the morning on said birthday and you open said email and it has an attachment in it which contains two lower level, home team sideline seats to a Buffalo v. Green Bay game at the Ralph in December ... how should one feel about this?

It would be better if it was the Green Bay game in Detroit.
Go Lions.

No, fuck that...!!!!
Honolulu Blue!
With a proven coach (finally) at this level
the Lions will still not be considered a favorite for the division
let alone the playoffs or Super Bowl.
And that's ok...

STAFFORD, MEGATRON AND COMPANY WILL DESTROY THE LEAGUE THIS YEAR!!!
THE LIONS WILL WIN THE SUPER BOWL!
PERMANENT GREEN SHARPIE FOR THIS PREDICTION!

WTF Goodell? Dude gets banned from playing the entire season for smoking a small amount of Mary Jane. That's 16 games!
Another dude knocks his lady out cold and only gets a two game suspension.
Hmm something ain't right here Commish.

Agreed. But it was like Gordon's 59th offense haha. And 2 games for Rice is a joke. Then again it's hard to dispute, marijuana I'm sure is in the nfl handbook as an illegal substance, but I doubt elevator knock outs are mentioned. More of a deal for him off the field, the NFL probably doesn't have the same jurisdiction in that case? I dunno... Just a guess.
Either way I agree, it's fucked up...

Cannabinoids are banned under the World Anti-Doping Code, so for a professional sportsman to be partaking is moronic. The rules are pretty clear, regardless of what we think the effects of the drug really are.

To anyone who lives in Washington or Colorado. How does this affect the athletes who play in professional sports in these two states? Are they allowed to partake because it is now legal to do so, or does their respective sports law or rules supersede these new state laws? It wouldn't be fair for all the other bozos in other states but I guess they need to play in Denver or Seattle to have that privilege. It's a tricky one.

It's not tricky at all, if steroids were legal in some countries do you think their laws would supersede the world anti-doping code?

Well I know the NFL has their own Anti doping policies/code.
Which was why I was asking our good friends who live in those respected states, and who actually watch the game for that matter. I am not disregarding your response, but I was asking those in the "know".

The WADA code is optional. Sporting leagues that haven't signed up for it can have their own codes. I doubt any league, WADA endorsed or otherwise would allow Cannabinoids, if only to avoid the "negative" connotations with it.

There are not too many employers in Colorado, even with legalization, that condone smoking marijuana. That includes the NFL. Although, I do believe there are discussions currently underway for authorizing players to obtain medical marijuana for injuries.

I've worked in Colorado. You CAN smoke weed all you want. It's legal so it's no problem. But your job still can drug test you, and do. Alcohol is legal but if you show up drunk I'm sure you're getting fired. It's a pretty simple thing really.
It's like the freedom of speech. Yes you CAN say whatever the hell you want, but that doesn't mean your free of the repercussions or disciplinary actions you may receive due to what you said
