Random Tool Social Media thread
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Inspired by Tyson's framing techniques here, I've got some radical ideas that might help us relieve some of this ticketing tension:
1) Only sell physical tickets on paper or cardboard.
2) Only provide customers with the opportunity to purchase AT MOST 4 tickets in a single 'purchase'.
3) Only sell these tickets at like ticket booths, stores, offices, businesses etc.
We did this in the 1990s and the first part of the 2000s and it seemed to work pretty well to be honest...
If you REALLY wanted to go to an 'event', you simply sacrificed sleep / work / health / sanity / common sense and chose to line up early in the morning or even the night before. This often guaranteed you one of the first few places in what we called the line and those of us who did so might have even made some new friends in the process. You could then develop a strategy regarding future ticket purchases for such big 'events' with new 'friends'. We called it 'social networking' or something.
"Yeah but that's not fair! We should be able to do ________ because it's 2021 and we now have ______ and as a customer I am entitled to ____ "
Who gives a shit?
Nearly 700,000 people have died in the USA alone since March 2020 thanks to this Covid thing; who gives a fuck if Ticketmaster or Toolband / Toolarmy cannot process 1300 individuals attempting to obtain 10 or so GOLD tickets for a band about to play 30+ straight shows across the USA?
Still not happy? The band are then heading over to Europe for another 15 or more shows.

^^^ y''know, that makes a lot of sense. everything is more complicated now (not even with covid) and you need a lame cell phone to do everything which by the way i've never had cause i dont really need or like them (i borrowed one for tool in 2019 cause i had no choice)
you want a little story about how some people are these days ? i found a university pass last week at walmart and found the person the next day online. Very thankful i found it and was able to return it within 24 hours of even finding it and the bitch tells me to leave it at customer service cause she'll be working and ''that way i dont have to find her in the store/she might be busy, haha'' as she put it. just a little snobby. i should of left the fn' thing on the ground. phones and bullshit mean more then people anymore. f off!

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Yeah ticketmaster offered it but i can't be arsed with what the package involves so declined.
Deftones!
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Didn't see anything like a "gold package" for Cologne or Hamburg...
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
The tool army admins emailed me the offer unprompted. Actually it was several emails, some of them just asking about the weather and what not, they don't seem very busy.earthrocker wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 3:28 amYeah ticketmaster offered it but i can't be arsed with what the package involves so declined.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I was in the Metallica fan club years ago and they would print special tickets for fan club purchases. Have them framed with the guitar picks and floor wristbands. They are for St. Anger and Death Magnetic tours. That could be another outlet for Adam's artwork. Also, if someone could get Tool to work with Emek on a poster, that would be great. Thanks.
P.S. I wouldn't mind Concrete Blonde opening for Tool instead.
P.P.S. The ticket price rapage is real. Fcking fees almost as much as the ticket.

This popped up in my FB feed today from a local music store:
No ETA or anything like that at this point
The Cry Baby Justin Chancellor Wah combines three of Justin’s favorite ways to explore tones and craft soundscapes—the fluid expressiveness of a custom midrange filter, the bright aggression of a custom wah circuit, and the chainsaw grind of a vintage fuzz.
• Combines three of Justin Chancellor’s epic effects into a single pedal
• U.K. Filter, inspired by his bass’ tone circuit, sounds thick and voice-like
• Modified Cry Baby Wah sounds lush and aggressive
• Vintage U.K.-style fuzz that can be paired with either mode or operated independently
• Customize the two rocker modes with Volume and Q controls
• Customize intensity, level, and EQ of fuzz mode
• Includes Pedal Topper to allow for simultaneous engagement of rocker and fuzz modes
