I don't think gay people do much "beating around the bush".... Just sayin.
I dunno about that, lesbians are pretty gay.
The Women's Footballer of the Year is gay. She's also German.

Now that the A League is bigger than it's ever been, I predict we'll see a player comfortable enough in the 2014/15 season to come out.
So you're sayin' you searched google for 'Gay Soccer League'..

Bet that was fun.

How can there still be no news about the album?

I bet I will have been waiting 10 years since becoming a Tool fan before I get that new album taste.

It better be brilliant.

Pretty bad when a 10 year long fan is still a n00b.

I'd call you old, but I know I'm older.

I see this as a good thing: We all get to become TOOL fans all over again.

'Cause at the moment, I'm all like, "Who?"

after reading the July newsletter and seeing BMB's declining wages throughout his day of U-Hauling...... could it be Dec 10th, 2015?

15/12/10
That's as good a guess as any. I am definitely not expecting anything on 12/13/14 anymore (I really like that date though). I don't know if Base is going to allow any further guesses, but I think 2015 is the earliest possible year we'll see the next Tool album.

I'm happy to say that I don't really care anymore. I'm finally numbed.

If they even hit the studio before Feb 2015 I'll be amazed.

You're being too cynical. They're no certainty to hit the studio this year, that is for sure but it wouldn't come as a huge shock to me if they did.

That Dec 10 2015 date would require May Jay to be away from his winery during his harvest season. Doubt that would happen.

Would it?

They would probably have it recorded before the end of the summer and then they could tour at the beginning of 2016.

Will the new album tour be mostly new material. Hard to imagine a tool show without all the classics but they world have to drop a vast majority of them to make room for the new stuff

I'm happy to be proven wrong - however that gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach says they hit the record button somewhere around late April '15.

And on the POSITIVE side - I'd be surprised if the band didn't release SOMETHING (ie a Salival II type deal which this recent "lenticular key chain" post alludes to..) before the new album drops.

In fact I'd say it's almost a given at this stage.

Late 2016 is when they'll be hitting the studio.

Yeah, I think most people are expecting this.

April 2015 is a long way off. I don't think Tool are 6+ months away from completing songwriting. I know better than the get expectations up, but I don't think them hitting the studio sometime before years end is unlikely.

Carina Round recently posted on Instagram that she's about to start writing for her next solo album. So that takes Puscifer out of the equation for the foreseeable future. We've heard even less about APC than Tool so I'd imagine Tool's on deck for May Jay after the harvest.

Is it possible that at this point on time they actually are waiting on May Jay?

Edit: link to Carina's post

I think there's a very good chance that post harvest (which should be any day now I think) Maynard will hook up with the rest of Tool and finish the songwriting process and/or hit the studio. It's not often everyone in the band appears to have a clear calendar, and I suspect it's like that for a reason.

Nice.

At this point in time I'm more curious about the possible "Salival II ish" release since it'd be here much sooner than the new album..

My guess:
  • Remastered HD versions of Tool videos.
  • A bunch of live tracks recorded over the years (probably audio only, since they appear to have given up on the video recordings they made).
  • Problem 8 or some other unreleased stuff lying around the place.
  • Collectors edition with a replica character from one of their videos.

I'd be happy with the middle two. They could even call it Salival II, I wouldn't mind.

I think most of us will take anything they offer us. Personally I don't mind waiting, as long as I know they will put out their best effort, not something rushed to silence the masses.
